This stamp appears on the underside of the top to an A style mandolin now in the collection of the National Music Museum at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.
In December 1896, Orville was in the process of making a set of instruments for the John W. McLouth Ideal Mandolin Orchestra of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
That means that among the candidates for possible original owner include John W. McLouth (although all known photographs show him with an F style mandolin) and J. Marsman.
